Kane, a Scottsdale Police Department K9, has died from a rare form of cancer.

The dog died Jan. 16, officials said, from an aggressive form of the disease.

“Kane served with the department for two years and was a dual-purpose narcotics and patrol K9,” officials said in a press release.

“He was responsible for numerous criminal apprehensions and drug-related arrests in his time keeping the Scottsdale community safe.”
