A Scottsdale nonprofit that provides the baseball experience to children, teens and adults with special needs hit the jackpot thanks to an area casino.
Gila River Hotels & Casinos presented The Miracle League of Arizona with almost $25,400. The money will allow the group to continue serving nearly 400 families with special needs, as well as help expand its family baseball sessions and provide personalized equipment to each player to allow them to participate safely at home.
Also receiving funds from Gila River Hotels & Casinos are Mesa-based Child Crisis Arizona with almost $25,400 and $25,473 for Gilbert-based Pawsitive Friendships. Gila River Hotels & Casinos presented the money to Pawsitive Friendships at the Barney Sports Complex in Queen Creek.
