Saguaro High School is canceling its second varsity football game in as many weeks due to injuries and the inability to field a full team.
The Sabercats’ game against ALA Queen Creek that was scheduled for Sept. 10 has been canceled, according to a notice from Saguaro’s Athletic Director David Abrams on the school’s website.
“Saguaro High School continues to experience a significant number of injuries within its football program,” the statement says. “As a result, there are not enough healthy and available student-athletes to safely field a team for this week’s competition.”
