Response teams participate in emergency drill at Scottsdale Stadium

In preparation for multiple large-scale tourist attraction events taking place in the Valley, including Super Bowl LVII, The Waste Management Open and Barrett Jackson, HonorHealth participated in a mass casualty training on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at Scottsdale Stadium.
According to a press release, more than 200 participants, volunteers and support personnel made up a multi-jurisdictional full-scale emergency response drill to demonstrate active response capabilities, coordination and communications during mass casualty situations, while identifying factors that may hinder successful coordination between agencies in the future.
The release stated that these simulations acknowledge the grim reality that mass casualty events could happen anywhere at any time. The purpose of the training is to educate, train and maintain safety proficiencies and partnerships with other agencies and stakeholders within the city of Scottsdale.
HonorHealth collaborates with other agencies every year with hands-on exercises like this to ensure emergency preparedness in case of mass casualty events.
