Arizona’s reservoir systems from the Colorado River are about 44% full, according to Scottsdale Water Policy Manager Gretchen Baumgardner.
“There’s a good news story here,” Baumgardner told the Scottsdale City Council during its Nov. 13 meeting. “Obviously last year was a really (wet) winter, which means the system contents are about 25 million acre feet and last year at this time it was 19 million acre feet. We’ve had a little bit of a reprieve this year with this great winter, and it’s an El Nino winter this year so there’s a potential to be a great reprieve (again).”
That’s the good news.
