Police: Scottsdale shooting appears linked to road rage

The Scottsdale Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place in the area of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Via Linda on Sunday, officials say, sending one man to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

The investigation began at 1:08 p.m., Jan. 10, officials say.

“Because we are early in the investigation there is not a lot of information to release,” department spokesman Kevin Watts said in a press release.

“We can confirm that the shooting appears to be the result of a road rage altercation.”

One male subject was transported to a local hospital with gunshot wounds, Mr. Watts said.

The other involved party, also an adult male, remain on scene, Mr. Watts said, noting there are no outstanding subjects, and there is no danger to the community.

Mr. Watts said the department anticipates having more information to release at a later date.
