MESA — A number of North Valley volleyball teams spent Friday and Saturday in Mesa competing against some of the top competition in the country at the Nike Tournament of Champions.
Chaparral was one of the teams, winning all seven of their matches to take home first place in their division. Horizon, in a separate division from Chaparral, went undefeated on Friday, but only 2-2 on Saturday. Notre Dame Prep, in the same division as Horizon, had a similar weekend. The Saints went undefeated on Friday, but split the matches on Saturday 2-2. Xavier, who played in the toughest division, won all three matches on Friday, won their first two matches Saturday before eventually falling to the would-be champions at Mater Dei and then dropping their fourth match, too.

Teams will look to take what they learned from the high-level of competition and apply it to what’s left of the regular season as they look to make a push towards the playoffs.
