New public art unveiled in Old Town Scottsdale

Posted

Artist Charlene Falk is debuting her public art sculpture in Scottsdale.
The multi-piece artwork is titled “Where We Walk” and surrounds the exterior of a new apartment building in Old Town called Scottsdale on Main Street, 6901 E. Main Street, according to a press release.

Following an invitation only dedication ceremony, Falk is inviting the public to join her in celebrating the completion of the project during the Scottsdale Artwalk on Thursday, April 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Faulk will tour the project with the public and will also have a POP-UP painting exhibit on view of her most recent works on canvas.

This public art installation was created through the City of Scottsdale’s Cultural Improvements Program. The Cultural Improvements program is a public art in private development program managed by Scottsdale Public Art, a division of Scottsdale Arts. Several artists competed for the art project through the developer, and Falk was awarded the project based on the artwork she designed
and submitted.

The artist is looking forward to visiting with the public to tour the “Where We Walk” installation and view her new paintings during the Scottsdale Artwalk on Thursday, April 18th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
