Local man spends 2 months in Mexican prison for gun possession

What started out as a last minute trip to Rocky Point, Mexico, for Scottsdale residents Eddy Ortega and Maya Morsi last November turned into a nightmare they are still dealing with today after Mexican authorities found a gun in their truck.

Morsi wound up spending three days in custody of Mexican authorities while Ortega spent two months in a maximum security Mexican prison.

The two were planning on taking a quick, four-day trip to the popular tourist spot for Thanksgiving before things went awry.
