Marshall Gallery to host Deborah Ebbers landscapes collection

After a decade’s hiatus, The Marshall Gallery will see the return of Michigan artist Deborah Ebbers to Scottsdale this month with a new body of landscapes.

Ms. Ebbers is the daughter of artists, a press release states. She literally was raised in the studio and explored painting and drawing before she could talk.

Her parents’ early influences informed Ms. Ebbers’s sensibilities as to technique, composition, color and how to express human emotions with natural beauty.

Ms. Ebbers says her work conveys a peaceful, quiet and enigmatic energy. She says she tries to portray unusual persepctives and use light in her work to showcase dramatic power. A naturalist, Ms. Ebbers says she grew up with a reverent wonder for the abundant natural world.

Her art is like poetry in painting with the primordial world as her accommodating subject matter, a release claims. As in music, the practiced combination of sounds and poignant rests give character and shape to the piece and lend it drama.

The Marshall Gallery will host an opening reception for Ms. Ebbers and her collection from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6. Those who attend will have an opportunity to speak with the artist and partake in small food.
