Man indicted in 2023 disappearance of Scottsdale resident Erin Weber

A 41-year-old man has been indicted on one count of first-degree murder in connection with the 2023 disappearance of Scottsdale resident Erin Weber, according to a press release.

Joseph Ryan Vigil was indicted by a Maricopa County grand jury after a more than three-year investigation by Scottsdale police. Weber was reported missing in January 2023 after her family was unable to reach her. Weber has not been located since her disappearance in 2023.

Police said detectives conducted multiple searches, interviews and forensic examinations while reviewing physical, biological and digital evidence throughout the investigation. Vigil has since made his initial appearance in Maricopa County Superior Court.
