COVID controversy consumes Scottsdale schools

Scottsdale Unified School District is looking for parents and students to be more responsible in an effort to keep schools open amid some rising COVID-19 case counts.

At the same time, some parents are concerned regarding district communication regarding possible exposure is not coming in a timely enough fashion to keep students from spreading the virus unknowingly.

Although SUSD Superintendent Dr. Scott A. Menzel assured parents schools will stay open until further notice, some parents of Chaparral High School students received letters dated Oct. 26, informing of possible exposure to a student who tested positive.
