Construction audit: Hohokam Elementary creates the mold for future projects in Scottsdale Unified

The Scottsdale Unified School District governing board has received a preliminary audit report on the Hohokam Elementary School construction project that provides several suggestions including input on the design contract to documentation standards, procurement and activity records.

As per an intergovernmental agreement with the city of Scottsdale, an audit of Hohokam Elementary School’s rebuild project funded from a 2016 voter-approved bond, took place from late April through the end of August.

Scottsdale’s City Auditor, Sharron Walker, presented audit findings to the SUSD governing board at the Oct. 26 regular board meeting.
