Brown: Time is of the essence to turn in your election ballot

Posted

So far, so good. From what I understand, Scottsdale’s first all-mail ballot election is going well.

Ballots were sent to all registered voters on Oct. 9. Since then, there has been a steady stream of ballots from voters. The votes will be counted and announced Tuesday, Nov. 5.

For those of you who have already sent in your ballots, thank you. And for those who haven’t gotten around to mailing your ballot, time is of the essence.

Please mail your ballot today.

For anyone who hasn’t voted yet and are concerned that your ballot may not be received in time for your vote to be counted, you can drop it off at the Indian Bend Wash Visitor Center, 4201 N. Hayden Road.

While I’m at it, I would like to thank all those who have supported and worked on our Yes To Children campaign to renew the SUSD budget override.

Our generous contributors and tireless volunteers have rallied community support for our students and teachers that is truly remarkable. Our diverse group has walked neighborhoods, spoken to a variety of organizations and called family and friends to generate yes votes.

Their commitment to SUSD schools has not been taken for granted and we will forever be in their debt.

If you voted to renew the SUSD budget override that will help maintain quality schools that increase property values, please accept our gratitude. And, if you haven’t voted yet, the students and teachers would appreciate your yes vote for the budget override.
