The city of Scottsdale is gearing up for the 71st annual Rodeo Scottsdale, also known as the Parada Del Sol Rodeo.
The PRCA-sanctioned rodeo is a four-day extravaganza held March 7-10 at the Westworld of Scottsdale Equidome Arena, 16601 N. Pima Road.
Rodeo enthusiasts can witness the performances at 7 p.m. from Thursday through Saturday, with a matinee show at 2 p.m. Sunday. The events include saddle bronc, barreback riding, steer wrestling, tie down roping, team roping and barrel racing.
Gates open two hours prior to each performance, with live music playing on the Coors Stage before and after the scheduled events.
The Equidome Arena will feature an array of vendors and concession stands offering food and drink options. Additionally, the live music lineup includes Kianna Martinez, Don “Hollywood” Yates, Harry Luge and Landon Shill.
Scottsdale Rodeo has transition to 100% digital and contact-free ticket sales, providing attendees with a convenient and secure way to enjoy the rodeo experience.
Dave Alford, general manager of Parada del Sol Rodeo, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming rodeo, emphasizing the events, musicians and sharing that his young grandson, “Handy,” will be participating in the rodeo this year.
"It's truly remarkable to witness the enduring legacy of Rodeo Scottsdale as we approach our 71st year. This event has evolved into a celebration of tradition, sportsmanship, and community spirit. We are delighted to continue bringing the excitement to our fans, both old and new, in a way that not only entertains but also supports meaningful causes within our community,” said Alford.
Patrons can watch the rodeo on the live feed from the Coors Stage, free of charge.
