$15.6M legal battle brewing over who runs Scottsdale trolleys

It’s 10 o’clock on a Wednesday morning and Alita Berry is waiting for the Scottsdale trolley to take her home from the Granite Reef Senior Center.

She uses the center to socialize, exercise, play games with others and enjoy a meal, but without the trolley she wouldn’t be able to make it there.

“Maybe I would have to take a taxi, which I cannot afford that much,” said Berry, who has been using the free trolley service for the past nine years. “I really depend on it to get around.”
