Queen Creek Unified employees to receive 3% raise

Posted

With the passing of the 2024 budget override renewal and a vote of approval by the Queen Creek Unified School District Governing Board, the district’s teachers and staff will receive a 3% salary increase for the 2025–26 school year.

“We are incredibly grateful to our community for their unwavering support in passing the override renewal,” QCUSD Superintendent Perry Berry stated in a press release. “Your dedication to our schools allows us to continue employing and supporting exceptional staff who make a lasting impact on our students.”

During a QCUSD Governing Board meeting in May, members unanimously voted to place the question of a 15% override of the 2025-26 maintenance and operations budget to voters in the Nov. 5 election. The measure passed 54% to 46%.

The approved raise will be applied to the 2025–2026 contract and will be based on the 2024–2025 base salary outlined in current contracts. Employees must have held a contract in place before Feb. 4 to be eligible for the increase, the release continued.

“Over the past 10 years, QCUSD has prioritized investing in our employees by consistently providing raises that reflect their value to our district,” Berry stated. “Your dedication plays a vital role in our continued success.”

The $15 million in override money for the upcoming school year will fund programs such as a secondary math lab offering intensive math instruction to junior high and high school students that can offer targeted intervention and support for those who are struggling academically.

The money will also be used for Summer Bridge programs to help elementary to high school students successfully transition to the next level of their academic career and achieve their academic goals.
