The Queen Creek Police Youth Academy is back this summer.

This free two-week program gives incoming eighth–12th graders a hands-on look at the workings of law enforcement.

Participants will learn directly from patrol officers, traffic division, criminal investigations, K-9 handlers, evidence technicians and members of the Special Assignment Unit.

Through demonstrations, interactive scenarios and team-building activities, students will gain insight into policing while developing skills in leadership, communication and personal responsibility.

“Our mission is to strengthen the relationship between local youth and law enforcement by creating a supportive, engaging environment where trust, respect and understanding can grow,” according to the town’s website.

The QCPD Youth Academy is open to 14–18-year-old Queen Creek residents with a 2.0 GPA or higher and no arrest record.

The academy runs from 9 a.m.-noon, June 2-5 and June 9-12, Queen Creek Police Department, 20727 E. Civic Parkway.

Spots are limited so apply now. For more information, visit https://bit.ly/4jMeHmS.
