Queen Creek police to collect unwanted prescription drugs

Posted

The Queen Creek Police Department is joining National Prescription Drug Take Back Day efforts.

Police will be collecting unused or expired prescription drugs.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday at the Fry’s at 25101 S. Ellsworth Road.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day provides people with an opportunity to safely dispose of unused, unwanted and expired prescriptions, as well as over-the-counter medications.

Collection sites will not accept syringes, needles and illicit drugs. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original containers. The cap must be tightly sealed to prevent spills.

The event is in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
