Queen Creek police offer safety tips for teen game

Law enforcement has received several reports of large groups of juveniles in parking lots allegedly pointing guns at each other – but there’s nothing to worry about, according to the Queen Creek Police Department.

After investigating, police officers learned they were playing the “senior assassin” game with water guns.

“The game involves students from different schools using water guns to ‘tag’ their targets,” QCPD stated in a Facebook post. “It can involve large groups of juveniles playing the game in parks, restaurants, shopping centers and neighborhoods.”

While the game itself is harmless, police are urging parents and guardians to remind their teens of the potential dangers involved, especially for those who don’t know about the game.

QCPD offers these safety reminders:

• Make sure the water guns being used do not look like real firearms and are brightly colored.
• Do not trespass on private property.
• Do not play in business areas, especially parking lots.
• Never aim or shoot at people that you know are not involved in the game.
• Do not display water guns in a threatening or disorderly manner.
