The Queen Creek Police Department will be holding a three-day Partners in Policing Academy.

It's a community-awareness program designed to give residents a behind-the-scenes look at the department’s daily operations, challenges and specialized units.

“The Partners in Policing Academy directly aligns with the department’s vision, mission and values," stated Queen Creek Police Chief Randy Brice in a press release. “The program promotes transparency and strengthens trust between the department and the community.”

This interactive program invites residents to “walk in the shoes of an officer” by offering hands-on experiences and allowing participants to engage directly with officers from specialized units, including traffic, crime scene investigation, real-time crime center, unmanned aerial vehicles, SWAT, K9s and other units within the department.

The academy will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., May 1-2, and 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday May 3 at the Community Chambers/Law Enforcement, 20727 E. Civic Parkway.

Qualifications for attending the academy are:

  • Queen Creek resident
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Commit to participating in all three days of the academy
  • No prior felony arrests
  • No misdemeanor arrests within one year of application
  • Must pass a background check

Space is limited to 25 participants. To apply, visit QueenCreekAZ.gov/PiP.
