Queen Creek Fire hosts child car seat clinic

Posted

Queen Creek parents and caregivers who need a child car seat installed or want to make sure the one they installed is secure are  encouraged to attend a special clinic hosted by the Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department.

The QCFMD, in partnership with the Queen Creek Police Department and the Department of Public Safety, will hold a child car seat clinic from 8-11 a.m., Friday, June 9, at Fire Station 2, 24787 S. Sossaman Road.

The department’s Child Passenger Safety Seat Program teaches parents and caregivers how to properly install child safety seats into their vehicles.

According to QCFMD, having a correctly installed child safety seat is critical in preventing children from getting injured or killed in a car crash. Statistics show more than 70% of child safety seats are installed incorrectly.

The event does require prior registration. Participants will need to bring their own car seats and the instructions that came with the seat. Residents can register at www.QueenCreekAZ.gov/ChildSeatSafety.

If residents need help obtaining a child safety seat, QCFMD has a limited quantity available. Please call 480-644-2400 to request a seat.
