The Queen Creek Town Council has voted to forward liquor license recommendations to the state for three new food-and-drink establishments coming to town.
At its Wednesday meeting, the council voted to forward recommendations of approval to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control for Switch Brews, First Watch and Eggstasy.
Switch Brews, located at 20870 E. Heritage Loop Road, Suite 200, will be serving as a coffee house and beer tap room. It is requesting a Series 7 Beer & Wine Liquor License.
The Series 7 liquor license is a “quota” license available only through the Arizona Liquor License Lottery or for purchase on the open market.
“Once issued, this license allows a beer and wine bar retailer to sell and serve beer and wine, primarily by individual portions, to be consumed on the premises and in the original container for consumption on or off the premises,” a staff report stated.
Switch Brews is currently under construction and is slated to open in January.
First Watch, located at 21202 S. Ellsworth Loop Road, Suite 100, will serve breakfast, brunch and lunch. It is requesting a new Series 12 Restaurant Liquor License.
The Series 12 is a non-transferable, on-sale retail privileges liquor license that allows a restaurant to serve all “types of spirituous liquor solely for consumption on the premises.” Under the license, the restaurant must derive at least 40% of its gross revenue from the sale of food, the staff report stated.
First Watch is set to open before Thanksgiving.
Eggstasy, located at 20736 E. Maya Road, Suite 100, will serve breakfast, brunch and lunch. Like First Watch, Eggstasy is requesting a new Series 12 Restaurant Liquor License.
Work on the restaurant is expected to be completed in November.
The liquor license recommendations were approved as part of the council’s public hearing consent agenda in which all items are enacted by one motion and one vote.
