More than 800 high school juniors from around the area can take part in the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce’s ninth annual Elevate for Tomorrow workforce-readiness event.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 9, at Arizona State University Polytechnic Campus at 7001 E. Williams Field Road in Mesa.
Students from the Queen Creek Unified School District, the J.O. Combs Unified School District, American Leadership Academy and surrounding high schools will have the opportunity to attend.
"We select the junior class because they still have a year to course-correct and change directions. We want them to have the opportunity to explore all the possible career options; for example, students think of a hospital and the career options of being a nurse or doctor but don't realize they could work in a hospital and be in the accounting or marketing department," Chris Clark, president and CEO of the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce, stated in a press release.
Students will participate in a variety of breakout sessions from interviewing and resume skills to financial literacy and college campus living.
The event also features a college and career fair that gives students the opportunity to meet representatives from post-secondary education and engage with local businesses to discover possible careers.
Businesses or post-secondary educational entities interested in participating in the college and career fair can sign up at Elevate For Tomorrow Booth Sign Up 2026.
