Queen Creek aquatic center holds topping-off ceremony

On hand for the event were city officials and Queen Creek Mayor Julia Wheatley who signed the beam before it was hoisted up and placed. Also joining Wheatley were councl members Dawn Oliphant, Bryan McClure and Jeff Brown.
The center will be located at the Frontier Family Park off the southwest corner of Ryan and Signal Butte roads.
The park is scheduled to open in late 2024 or early 2025.
“It’s such a beautiful project and it will provide so much to our residents,” Wheatley said during the ceremony.
The 85-acre Frontier Family Park park will have a variety of amenities such as an inclusive play area, a 5-acre fishing lake, lighted ball fields, picnic areas, splash pad and basketball and volleyball courts. The park will also feature 24 pickleball courts and a 1.5-mile multiuse path that will span the perimeter of the park.
The recreation and aquatic center will include an indoor recreation center with various sport courts such as basketball, volleyball and pickleball. It will also have a fitness area, teen room, childcare and classrooms. The outdoor aquatic center will include a zero-depth entry play pool, competition/lap pool, lazy river and slides. There will be shared space for locker rooms.
