In honor of its incorporation on Sept. 5, 1989, the town of Queen Creek celebrates QC Neighborly Week each September to highlight “neighborly” neighborhoods.
Residents can nominate neighborhoods for a QC Neighborly award for activities that took place between Sept. 14, 2024, through Sept. 8.
These activities can include a donation drive, organizing meals and support for a family or individual in need or a neighborhood clean-up effort.
“As a growing community it is so important that we continue to celebrate the amazing people that make Queen Creek so incredible,” Queen Creek Mayor Wheatley stated in the town press release. “I absolutely love this town and hear so many stories of people being neighborly — we want to celebrate and share those stories.”
The deadline to submitentries for the QC Neighborly Award is Monday, Sept. 8. From Sept. 9 through 16, residents can vote for their favorite entries on Nextdoor. Voting will depend on the number of entries received.
On Monday, Sept. 22, the winning QC Neighborly award will be announced across all town social media platforms. The winning neighborhood will be offered a free spot in the QC Hometown Christmas Parade.
On Wednesday, Oct. 1, the QC Neighborly Award will be highlighted at the Queen creek Town Council meeting, where the winners are invited to accept the award.
Celebrate the town’s 36th anniversary with friends and neighbors at Founders’ Day from 5 to 9 p.m., Sept. 20, at Frontier Family Park, 20039 S. 220th St. For more information on Founders’ Day, visit QueenCreekAZ.gov/FoundersDay.
