New veterinary hospital opens in Queen Creek

Queen Creek residents have a new choice in getting treatment for their furry friends.

Livewell Animal Hospital of Queen Creek, located at 23021 E. Riggs Road, Suite 100, opened its doors on June 15 and will be holding its grand opening on June 30.

Led by local veterinarian Dr. Sherod Hardt, Livewell is a full-service animal hospital that offers wellness and preventative care, senior veterinary care, internal medicine, X-rays, ultrasounds and more. The hospital is also equipped with a state-of-the-art surgery suite, on-site and online pharmacies, and a laboratory to perform basic diagnostic tests.

Having grown up in Queen Creek, Hardt knew this was the perfect place for him to open his own hospital.

Hardt has been practicing veterinary medicine for more than two decades, fulfilling a dream that began in childhood.

“I decided I wanted to become a veterinarian when I was about 10 years old. We had a horse that had a laceration wound, and our local veterinarian taught me how to clean it and take care of the horse. I found it very interesting and fun to tend to our animals’ medical needs,” he stated.

 His professional passions include caring for senior pets and wound management.

“I really enjoy taking care of our senior patients,” Hardt stated. “They all have a special place in our hearts, and I love making them feel more comfortable as they age. I also enjoy treating wounds and seeing how amazing the body can heal and how we can help our patients feel better.”

Livewell Animal Hospital of Queen Creek is hosting a family and pet-friendly ribbon-cutting celebration from 10  to 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 30. The event will feature hospital tours, giveaways and opportunities for the community to meet the veterinary team.
