New and increased water rates, fees being proposed in Queen Creek

The new water resource fee will be used by Queen Creek to pay for the purchase and delivery through the Central Arizona Project canal of 1.7 million acre-feet of Harquahala basin water.

The Queen Creek Town Council is expected to start the clock on new water fees plus adjustments to the water rate cost of service, wastewater structure and solid waste fees.

At its Wednesday meeting, the council will vote on notices of intent to establish or adjust the rates. If approved, on Nov. 18 there will be a public hearing and council will take action on the changes.
