Queen Creek continues working toward water independence

Queen Creek may have made the final payment on more than 1 million acre-feet of Harquahala Valley basin water in July, but the work to get that water to the town is far from over.

At a planning meeting on Aug. 10, the Queen Creek Town Council received an update on the next steps in building the infrastructure to transport the Harquahala water and the quest to become a designated water provider.
