Gilbert Town Council made the results of the council runoff election official Nov. 28 as it accepted the vote's canvass.
Bobbi Buchli defeated Bill Spence in the runoff, earning the final open seat on council for the political newcomer.
Council voted 4-0 vote with council members Laurin Hendrix and Scott September absent and Yung Koprowski arriving a moment too late for the vote in a special meeting that last fewer than five minutes.
Mayor Brigette Peterson then gave Buchli her certificate of election before adjournment.
Buchli earned just over 50% of the vote to win the election against Spence, who had 49%, by 1,176 votes.
She will join the council Jan. 10 along with newcomers Jim Torgeson and Chuck Bongiovanni, who won their seats in the August primary along with Koprowski, an appointed incumbent who won a full term.
