A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the March 10 shooting death of a Queen Creek teenager at the Snedigar Sportsplex in Chandler that also left two San Tan Valley teens injured.

Keandre Brown of Casa Grande was arrested Thursday in that city and booked on the murder charge. He was also charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, aggravated robbery and discharging a firearm within city limits, police said.

Chandler police responded just before 9 p.m., March 10 to 4500 S. Basha Road to multiple reports of shots being heard near the northwest end of the Snedigar Sportsplex.

Officers found three people injured by gunfire.

Jaylan Collins, 16, of Queen Creek was pronounced dead at the scene. A 17-year-old boy and girl from San Tan Valley were injured, according to a release.

Detectives determined the incident occurred between two groups that were acquainted with one another, police said.

Detectives are continuing to follow up on leads, and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chandler Police Department or Silent Witness at 480-948-6377.
