Now Open

1. Queen Creek Family Resource Center

Located inside of Wonderwise Preschool, the Queen Creek Family Resource Center opened on June 18. The center offers free parent and child learning activities, parenting classes and more to families with children aged birth to 5 years.

2. Skin Care Specialists
1155 E. Combs Road, Suite 101

The business is holding its grand opening on June 30. Skin Care Specialists is led by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Daniel Skinner. The practice provides dermatologic care for patients of all ages, offering routine skin exams, skin cancer screenings, cyst removal, Mohs surgery and treatment for rashes and other skin conditions. Skin Care Specialists has locations in Mesa, Tempe, Queen Creek, and Scottsdale.

Busy Bees Child Care opened June 9. The 13th location in the state, Busy Bees works to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for children from infancy through school-age. The BeeCurrious Curriculum is a proprietary program that blends play-based learning with an educational foundation for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years.

Coming

4. Zaxbys
Vineyard Towne Center
Northwest corner Gantzel and Combs roads

The restaurant chain is opening its first Arizona location in Queen Creek this summer. This will be the first of six locations in the works for the surrounding area that are locally owned and operated. It is located near Sprouts and in front of the under-construction at the Vineyard Towne Center.

Permits

5. First Credit Union
Southeast corner of Signal Butte and Queen Creek roads

The Queen Creek Planning & Zoning commission has recommended for approval a site plan and a conditional-use permit for First Credit Union. The site plan calls for a 3,541-square-foot First Credit Union office with three drive-thru teller lanes and a walk-up ATM. The conditional-use permit is required due to the drive-thrus. The credit union will be built 250 feet east from the southeast corner of Signal Butte and Queen Creek roads within the Madera Retail Commercial Center.

Liquor License

6. Target
37854 N. Gantzel Road
The Queen Creek Town Council has recommended approval of a liquor license for the new Target at the Vineyard Towne Center. Target is requesting a Series 10 beer and wine store liquor license, which allows a “retail store to sell beer and wine (no other spirituous liquors), only in the original unbroken package, to be taken away from the premises of the retailer and consumed off the premises,” according to a staff report.
