The long-awaited BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is set to open in March 2025.
The estimated opening date was included in the restaurant’s application for a liquor license recommendation to the state from the Queen Creek Town Council.
During its Nov. 20 meeting, council voted to forward the recommendation of approval to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control for BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, which is still under construction at 20152 S. Ellsworth Road.
The item was part of the council’s public consent agenda, which is enacted by one motion and vote.
In April 2023, the town received a pre-application for the 6,000-square-foot restaurant at Queen Creek Crossing.
The construction and opening date for the restaurant has been a moving target. Construction was initially set to start in January with the opening scheduled for September. Construction began over the summer.
BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is north of the Costco gas station. It will offer contemporary American pub-style food, as well as its own crafted beer.
It is requesting a new Series 12 restaurant liquor license, a non-transferable, on-sale retail privileges liquor license that allows a restaurant to serve all “types of spirituous liquor solely for consumption on the premises.”
Under the license, the restaurant must derive at least 40% of its gross revenue from the sale of food, the staff report stated.
