American Legion Post takes part in Queen Creek Fire water drive

Posted

The American Legion Duane Ellsworth Post 129 recently donated 177 cases of bottled water to support the Queen Creek Fire & Medical Department’s annual water drive.

QCFMD set a goal of collecting 250 cases of water to help those in need during Arizona’s extreme summer heat.

“This is what the legion is all about — supporting our community, stepping up when there’s a need and taking care of people,” Craig Barnes, commander of Post 129, stated in a press release. “Our members are proud to stand alongside the Queen Creek Fire Department in keeping our community safe and strong.”

The donation reflects the “American Legion’s ongoing mission of service, not only to veterans and their families but also to local communities,” the release continued.

“Post 129 has been active in Queen Creek through outreach programs, fundraising efforts and partnerships with civic organizations,” the release stated.

Queen Creek Fire officials expressed gratitude for the legion’s contribution, emphasizing how important community partnerships are in helping meet local needs during the hottest time of the year.
