Teenage boy dies from gunshot wound in southwest Phoenix

An unidentified 17-year-old boy was shot and killed early Wednesday morning in southwest Phoenix according to a release from Phoenix Police Thursday.

An unidentified 17-year-old boy was shot and killed early Wednesday morning in southwest Phoenix according to a news release from Phoenix Police Thursday.

According to the release, just after midnight on Sept. 8, Phoenix Police responded to a call of a shooting near 8100 W. Hammond Lane.

Upon arrival, officers found a teenage boy suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers implemented life-saving measures and Phoenix Fire transported him to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased from his injuries.
