Sister Lynn Winsor is one of five recipients for the WeCOACH 2023-24 Lifetime Achievement Award. The honor is presented to women in sports who succeed at the highest levels in their respective careers while also displaying a commitment, pioneering spirit and leadership to empower and pave the way for girls and women in all sports and levels.

Winsor has been an innovative coach and administrator since she returned to Xavier to teach in 1974. She's a member of Xavier's Class of 1961, and is in her 47th year at Xavier, where she is the longest serving high school athletic director in Arizona.

This year’s other recipients include Missy Foote (retired), Middlebury College head women’s lacrosse and field hockey coach; Dr. Christine Grant (posthumous), University of Iowa director of women’s intercollegiate athletics and former field hockey coach; Beverly “Bev” Kearney, former University of Texas women’s track and field head coach and founder of InPursuit of Dreams Inc.; and C. Vivian Stringer (retired), Rutgers University head women’s basketball coach.

WeCOACH is a national nonprofit dedicated to recruiting, advancing, and retaining women coaches in all sports and levels through growth and leadership development programs.

"WeCOACH is privileged to have these women as special members of our community,” WeCOACH CEO Vanessa Fuchs shared in a press release. “They have not only achieved unprecedented success, they have also opened doors and created opportunities for others to follow in their footsteps.
