Phoenix artist explores ‘HUMAN NATURE’ on Grand Avenue

Harold Lohner brings new collection of monoprints to Five15Arts in October

Artist Harold Lohner will explore the relationship between people and the natural world in “HUMAN NATURE,” a solo exhibition opening Friday, Oct. 2 at Five15Arts @ Chartreuse in Phoenix.

The exhibition features a new collection of Lohner’s one-of-a-kind monoprints and marks his fourth solo show at the artist collective on Historic Grand Avenue. An opening reception will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. during First Friday.

Visually, Lohner’s monoprints pair bold human figures with vivid colors and layered patterns, often incorporating flowers, leaves, branches, the moon and other elements of nature. The colorful, sometimes surreal compositions use those natural forms not simply as decoration, but as symbols of the forces shaping the fictional people depicted in his work, a press release notes.
