Motorcyclist dies after collision with Valley Metro vehicle

A 20-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a Valley Metro Paratransit vehicle near Peoria Avenue and 28th Drive, police said.

The collision occurred about 11:35 a.m. April 11, and Phoenix police officers found Mike Do, 20, suffering from serious injuries. He later died at a hospital, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.

The release stated detectives responded and learned Do was riding west on Peoria Avenue wearing a helmet when the vehicle pulled in front of him attempting to make a left turn to go north on 28th Drive from Peoria. Do  struck the vehicle and was ejected from the motorcycle and hit a third vehicle stopped in traffic.

A 20-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a Valley Metro Paratransit vehicle near Peoria Avenue and 28th Drive, police said.

The driver of the Valley Metro vehicle stayed at the scene to speak with investigators and showed no signs of intoxication, police said, adding an investigation is continuing.
