Man dies in car-pedestrian accident in east Phoenix

A 44-year-old man was killed in a collision with a vehicle Sunday night in east Phoenix, Phoenix Police said Monday in a release.

A 44-year-old man was killed in a collision with a vehicle Sunday night in east Phoenix, Phoenix Police said Monday in a release.

According to the release, at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Aug. 23, officers responded to a collision involving a pedestrian near 48th Street and Van Buren Street.

When fire personnel and officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as Sharmarke Ismail, lying in the roadway with critical injuries.
