Groups break barriers, build trust with Valley homeless

Heat relief helpers have teamed up in downtown Phoenix as the temperatures get hotter this summer.

Scottsdale Recovery Center and Redeem Neighborhoods are working together to help the Phoenix homeless population near Cesar Chavez Park, 7858 S. 35th Ave., Phoenix.

The groups are distributing water from 3 to 5 p.m. every Tuesday in August for homeless residents, said Aymet Demara, clinical director at the Scottsdale Recovery Center.
