19-year-old dies after soccer game fight in Phoenix

A man died one week after being assaulted Aug. 6 during a soccer game fight near 43^rd Avenue and Hubble Street, Phoenix police said Friday.

Tumusifu Bazirake’s death is now being investigated as a homicide. He died Aug. 13, and his remains were turned over to the Office of the Medical Examiner to determine cause of death.

Phoenix officers were called about 8 p.m. Aug. 6 to the soccer fields where they found the 19-year-old victim unresponsive.
