The city of Peoria’s annual Winter Water Safety Day and Polar Plunge will take place 8-9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8 at Centennial Pool, 8081 W. Acoma Drive.

Families are invited to take the plunge and swim across an unheated pool to raise water safety awareness. Participants will receive a free t-shirt, a hot breakfast provided by the Peoria Firefighter Charities, and satisfaction in supporting programming that helps children learn how to swim.

The event is free but donations that go toward free swim lessons are accepted.

Registration is required. To register or donate, visit www.peoriaaz.gov/aquatics.
