Peoria Unified leaders come together to prepare for new school year

Students, of course, are at the center of much back-to-school conversation this time of year, but sometimes people forget educators and administrators need to be well prepared when that first day finally comes around.

For the Peoria Unified School District, that day happens to be Aug. 3, when more than 34,000 students will flood back into more than 40 schools across Peoria and Glendale.

To ensure that readiness, roughly 70 leaders from across the district descended upon Sunrise Mountain High School to take part in Communications Camp, or Comm Camp, a hands-on, interactive day of professional development for school leaders, hosted by the Peoria Unified communications and public relations team.
