Peoria mayor's Chief of Staff Brandon Urness has launched an exploratory committee to consider running for Congressional District 8, which covers portions of the north and west Valley including Sun City, Sun City West, Peoria, Glendale and Phoenix.
Arizona Rep. Debbie Lesko announced Oct. 17 she will not seek reelection in 2024, which has led to as many as five Republicans announcing their candidacy for the seat, according to one report.
Lesko, a Republican, represents Congressional District 8, which has been reliably red over the years.
