Peoria libraries to host Japanese Taiko drumming demonstrations

There are two Japanese Taiko drumming demonstrations this week at both Peoria public libraries.

The program will explore cultures of the Far East through performances and an interactive lecture showcasing Taiko drum and other musical instruments of Asia.

There are two sessions Friday, May 24: 11 a.m. to noon at Sunrise Mountain Library, 21109 N. 98th Avenue, and 3 to 4 p.m. at the Peoria Main Library, 8463 W. Monroe Street.
