For most high school seniors, graduation marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.
For Peoria resident David Vosekalns, it also marks the start of a journey that only a select few students achieve each year.
Vosekalns, a recent graduate of Great Hearts' Glendale Preparatory Academy who has spent nearly his entire life near Sunrise Mountain in Peoria, has earned an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. This year, only 17 Arizona students were admitted to the academy.
