Peoria City Council approves appeal for cell phone tower in Vistancia

Planning commission voted to deny tower at earlier meeting

Peoria City Council unanimously reversed a recommendation by the Planning and Zoning Commission to deny the construction of a cell phone tower in north Peoria.

The applicant for the planned tower in Vistancia filed an appeal, which the council approved by a 7-0 vote June 2, allowing construction to move forward.

Additionally, staff found the appeal to be meritorious and recommended the reversal of the denial and to approve the facility with conditions.
