New mixed-use development will bring Whole Foods to north Peoria

Project will have commercial, for-sale residential components

A new mixed-use project that will include a 30,000-square-foot Whole Foods as its anchor is planned for about 22 acres of infill property at the southeast corner of Lake Pleasant Parkway and Yearling Road.

To facilitate the project, City Council recently approved a rezone from Suburban Ranch to Travesio Mixed-Use Planned Area Development. The project will consist of a 6-acre commercial center and a 16-acre gated single-family residential subdivision with up to 50 lots that will eventually include for-sale homes. The density of the residential component will be four dwelling units per acre.
