Total crime remains steady in northern Peoria

If you live in northern Peoria, crime has remained fairly steady during the past two years, according to a public record request by Peoria Independent.

Total crime incidents in the north precinct from January to June 2025 reached 1,175, while total incidents from January to June 2026 decreased slightly to 1,171.

The Peoria Police Department, like many law enforcement agencies in the country, use the FBI’s National Incident-Based Reporting System, or NIBRS, to collect crime data.
