Seven high schools will take the field in one day, bringing more than 500 musicians — that are all on the same team.
Peoria Unified School District will host its fifth annual Marching Band Showcase at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Raymond S. Kellis High School, 8990 W. Orangewood Ave., Glendale.
This event is free to the public and provides an opportunity for the marching bands from all seven district high schools to showcase their field shows.
The schedule of performances is as follows:
6 p.m.: Peoria High School
6:20: Liberty High School
6:40: Ironwood High School
7: Sunrise Mountain High School
7:20: Cactus High School
7:40: Raymond S. Kellis High School
8: Centennial High School
“We are so excited to continue this annual tradition and invite the community to join us for this free event to witness the hard work and dedication of our students. They have been rehearsing their field shows since the middle of July and are ready to showcase those efforts in a fun and supportive environment,” stated Stacy Hamilton, district director of arts education.
Marching band is one of several course opportunities available through the PUSD arts education department, recently recognized with the Best Communities for Music Education award for the second year in a row.
